KingpinLoads
About

One dispatch desk for every trailer. You approve every load.

KingpinLoads is a truck dispatch service for owner-operators and small fleets. We dispatch 11 kinds of equipment with the same care, from dry vans, reefers and flatbeds to step decks, lowboys, power only, car haulers, dump trucks, tankers, hotshots and 26 ft box trucks. The idea behind the desk is simple: you run the truck and make the calls, and we do the hours of searching, negotiating and paperwork that sit around every load.

How the desk works

How a load moves through the desk

  1. 01

    Sourcing

We look for freight that fits your truck, your lanes and your home time, across load boards and the brokers we work with.

  2. 02

    Negotiating

We negotiate the linehaul, fuel and every accessorial line: detention, tarp pay, stops, layovers.

  3. 03

    Your yes

The load comes to you with the rate, the stops and the details. Nothing is booked until you say yes.

  4. 04

    Rate con to you

The broker sends the rate confirmation straight to you. We check it matches what you approved.

  5. 05

    Check calls

We handle the broker's check calls and keep you posted while you drive.

  6. 06

    Paperwork

We help get the paperwork right, so invoices and factoring don't stall on a missing signature.

The fee for all of it is a percentage of the loads you haul, no setup fee and no contract beyond 30 days notice. The details are on our pricing page, and every trailer we run is listed in our dispatch services.

Who we work with

Who we work with

Most carriers on our desk are one of three kinds. Owner-operators running one truck under their own authority, who want someone searching and negotiating while they drive. New authorities in their first months, who need loads while they build a payment history and learn which brokers to trust. And small fleets of two trucks or more, often with mixed equipment, who need a desk that plans every truck rather than one dispatcher stretched thin.

What they have in common is that they want to stay in charge. A dispatcher works for the carrier, so the carrier sets the lanes, the minimum rate, the home time and the freight they won't haul. Our job is to fill the truck inside those lines. If a load doesn't fit them, it doesn't reach you. If the market is slow and nothing fits, we tell you plainly and talk through the options, rather than pushing a load you'd regret.

Every trailer

Why one desk for every trailer

Each trailer type works differently. A reefer lives on appointment times and temperature records. A flatbed or step deck lives on securement, tarps and weather. An oversize load needs permits and route planning, a car hauler needs the right mix of vehicles, and a 26 ft box truck needs dense, short runs. We plan each truck for its own equipment, its gear and its driver, rather than treating every truck as a dry van.

Running every type on one desk also helps small fleets with mixed equipment: one point of contact, one fee structure and one set of rules, with each truck dispatched for what it actually is.

What we won't do

What we won't do

  • Force a load on you. You can say no to any load, for any reason, with no penalty.
  • Hide the rate. The rate con comes from the broker to you, so you see every dollar the broker agreed to.
  • Dispatch vans or small boxes. We don't dispatch cargo vans, sprinter vans or box trucks under 26 ft.
  • Cut corners on safety. No shortcuts on securement, hours of service or permits. On oversize loads we coordinate permits and escorts only when you ask, and you stay responsible for them.
  • Lock you in. No long contract, no minimums, no setup fee.
  • Invent proof. You won't find made-up reviews, testimonials or statistics on this site. Examples are marked as examples.
Our guides

Who writes our guides

The guides, calculators and glossary on this site are written under the byline of Ronald. They're built from the rules themselves and published data, cited with the month we checked them. When a rule or a figure changes, the pages that use it are updated and redated. Read how that works in our editorial policy.

We write them because carriers make better decisions with the real numbers in front of them, whether or not they ever use a dispatcher. Start from the home page to find them by topic.

Notes / FAQ

About the desk

Note 01What does KingpinLoads do?

We dispatch trucks for owner-operators and small fleets across every common trailer type, from dry vans and reefers to lowboys, hotshots and 26 ft box trucks. We find and negotiate loads, send them to you to approve, handle broker check calls and help with paperwork. You keep the decisions and the rate con.

Note 02Do I have to take the loads you find?

No. Every load comes to you first with the rate, the stops and the details, and you say yes or no. Nothing is booked without your yes. The rate confirmation then comes from the broker straight to you, so you always see exactly what the broker agreed to pay.

Note 03How do you get paid?

A percentage of gross on loads we book and you haul: 5% for most single trucks with an MC older than 6 months, 7% for new MCs, 26 ft box trucks and hotshots, and 4% for fleets of 2 or more trucks. No setup fee, no minimums, month-to-month with 30 days notice.

Note 04Do you work with cargo vans or small box trucks?

No. We dispatch box trucks of 26 ft and longer, and nothing smaller. We don't dispatch cargo vans or sprinter vans. That's a deliberate choice about the freight we can book well for you, not a judgment on anyone's business.

Note 05Who writes your guides and calculators?

Our guides, calculators and glossary are written under the byline of Ronald, and every rule or figure cites its source with the month it was checked. Examples are labeled as examples. Our editorial policy explains how pages are researched, dated and corrected.
